Root Canal Treatment

From RCT to Implants, We've Got You Covered for All Your Dental Needs

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that is used to treat a tooth that has become infected or damaged deep inside the pulp, which is the soft tissue inside the tooth. The purpose of a root canal is to remove the infected or damaged pulp, clean and shape the root canals, and then fill and seal the space. If you are experiencing tooth pain or other symptoms, a root canal may be necessary to save your tooth and restore your oral health.

Why You May Need a Root Canal

There are several reasons why you may need a root canal, including:

  1. Deep decay: If tooth decay is left untreated, it can spread to the pulp and cause an infection.

  2. Trauma: A tooth that has been cracked or fractured can allow bacteria to enter the pulp and cause an infection.

  3. Gum disease: Gum disease can cause the gums to recede, exposing the roots of the teeth and making them more vulnerable to infection.

  4. Previous dental work: Previous dental work, such as multiple fillings or a dental crown, can weaken a tooth and increase the risk of infection.

Symptoms of a Root Canal Infection

Some common symptoms of a root canal infection include:

  1. Severe tooth pain, especially when chewing or biting down.

  2. Sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures.

  3. Swelling and tenderness in the gums.

  4. Discoloration or darkening of the tooth.

  5. A pimple or bump on the gums near the affected tooth.

The Root Canal Procedure

Here is what you can expect during a root canal procedure:

  1. Anesthesia: Before the procedure begins, your dentist will administer a local anesthetic to numb the area around the affected tooth.

  2. Removal of Pulp: The dentist will make a small hole in the top of the tooth to access the pulp and remove the infected or damaged tissue.

  3. Cleaning and Shaping of Root Canals: The dentist will use special tools to clean and shape the root canals, which are then filled with a biocompatible material.

  4. Placement of Crown: To protect and strengthen the tooth, a dental crown may be placed over the top.

  5. Post-Procedure Care: After the procedure is complete, your dentist will provide you with instructions for caring for your tooth, including recommendations for brushing, flossing, and follow-up appointments.

Frequently Ask Questions

Smile Brighter, Laugh Louder: Our Top-Notch Dental Clinic is Here to Help

Our clinic offers a wide range of dental services, including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and dental implant services.

A dental implant is a small, screw-shaped post that is surgically placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Once the implant is in place, a dental crown is attached to it, creating a natural-looking replacement tooth.

The length of the dental implant process depends on several factors, including the number of implants needed, the condition of the patient's teeth and gums, and the patient's overall health. Typically, the process takes several months, but our dentist can give you a more accurate timeline based on your individual needs.

To determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants, you will need to schedule a consultation with our dentist. During the consultation, our dentist will examine your teeth, gums, and jawbone to determine if dental implants are the best option for you.

The dental implant process involves a surgical procedure, so there may be some discomfort during the healing process. However, our dentist will provide you with pain medication and instructions for managing any discomfort.

Dental implants are designed to last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. Regular dental checkups and good oral hygiene habits can help ensure the longevity of your dental implants.

Our clinic offers a range of cosmetic dental procedures, including teeth whitening, veneers, and Invisalign.

The cost of cosmetic dental procedures varies depending on the type of procedure and the individual needs of the patient. Our dentist can provide you with a cost estimate during your consultation.

During your first visit to our clinic, our dentist will perform a comprehensive oral examination and discuss any dental concerns you may have. Our dentist may also take x-rays or other diagnostic images to better understand your dental health. Based on your examination, our dentist will create a personalized treatment plan to address any issues and achieve your dental goals.

You can schedule an appointment at our clinic by calling us at +91 767 660 2695 or by filling out our online appointment request form. Our friendly staff will work with you to find a convenient appointment time that fits your schedule.

I had been to Lotus Dental Hub with a severe toothache and sensitivity. I met Dr. Poojitha - the senior most doctor here. She made me understand when should a Root Canal Treatment be performed and when should a tooth extraction be done. She explained this to me patiently. Under her guidance, Dr. Nandini performed RCT on one of my teeth. Throughout the procedure, she was very gentle and compassionate. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Athulya Vijayan performed RCT too and thereafter fixed the teeth crowns following which I started developing mouth ulcers. She cleaned the ulcers and then, prescribed a gel to be applied on it. Dr. Athulya was very humble and stayed calm through out the procedures. She also gave me time to relax after which, she continued with the procedure. Depending on the severity of your condition, the doctors here call you personally to find about your health conditions too. The doctors I met here are very good and also they always greet you with a smile. They also tend to follow up with their patients to ensure their comfort. Thank you for your spectacular service!
